Family Habit terms of use

Effective 21 October 2026 · Last updated 21 October 2026

Family Habit is provided by Ramesh S, an individual developer based in Chennai, India, operating under the name Harnvia ("Harnvia", "we", "us"). "Harnvia Technologies" is a brand name, not an incorporated company. These terms cover the current Free and Plus versions, intended for parents and guardians using their own devices. Contact harnvia@gmail.com with questions, support requests or complaints.

These terms describe the conditions for using Family Habit. Review them before using the app or purchasing Plus. Your mandatory rights under applicable law continue to apply.

1. Who the app is for

Family Habit helps parents and guardians organize household goals, habits, challenges and rewards on their own devices. You must be an adult legally able to enter into these terms in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for having appropriate authority to enter and manage information about your family. Child profiles are parent-managed entries, not separate child accounts.

This release offers Free and Plus. The connected Family plan, invitations, separate child-device access and live cross-device synchronization are not offered in this release. References to planned features do not promise their availability or a delivery date.

The app is a planning and motivation tool, not medical, psychological, educational or financial advice. Choose goals and rewards appropriate to your household; the app does not guarantee any health, learning or behavioral outcome.

2. Accounts and acceptable use

You can use the Free version's local features without an account or an internet connection. Signing in is required for account features, including cloud backup and the app's Plus purchase flow. Local storage does not mean every feature works without a connection: sign-in, purchases, subscription verification, cloud backup and submitting feedback use online services. Optional analytics and crash reporting also use online services when enabled.

Keep your account credentials and device secure, and keep the email address on your account up to date, because we use it for account and plan notices. Provide accurate account information and do not impersonate another person. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account use.

Do not use the app unlawfully, upload content you have no right to provide, attempt unauthorized access, bypass access controls or interfere with the service. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information about yourself or children in profiles, routine text or feedback.

You may use the app for its intended household purposes, subject to these terms and applicable law. The app's software and artwork are protected by their owners' rights; third-party components remain subject to their respective licenses. These terms do not restrict rights that applicable law or an open-source license gives you.

3. Your content and privacy

You retain your rights in content you enter. You allow us and our service providers to store, process and transmit your content only as needed to provide the features you choose, including optional cloud backup and responding to feedback, and as described in the Privacy Policy. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content or give us a right to sell it.

Our Privacy Policy explains data handling, optional analytics and crash reporting, providers, retention and your choices. Accepting these terms is not consent to optional analytics or crash reporting; those choices are separate and can be changed in Settings.

4. Stars, coins and rewards

Stars, goal-day coins and streak coins are motivational records. They have no cash value, are not currency or investments, and cannot be redeemed for money from us. Any household rewards are arrangements you make; we do not supply, fund or guarantee them. Reviewing or correcting an activity may change related progress or rewards. Recorded check-ins do not independently verify that an activity occurred.

Habit completions and activity undo are available for today and the previous 13 calendar days, subject to the feature and your plan's available controls. Older activity cannot be checked or undone through those controls; viewing history is subject to the history available in your plan. Future dates show a preview, not an opportunity to record completion early. Calendar dates follow the device's local date.

Bingo allows changes to today's board and yesterday's saved board. A missing board for yesterday is not created retrospectively. Older board layouts may be removed during cleanup; separate Bingo award records preserve the related stars. Undoing an eligible square may reverse its line or full-board award.

If an allowed undo removes stars or coins that have already been spent, the available balance does not go below zero; an existing coin prize is not revoked solely for that reason. These editing rules do not prevent account or personal-data deletion requests.

5. Free and Plus subscriptions

Free can be used without purchasing Plus. Plus provides the paid features and limits described in the app and at checkout. Features may depend on your app version, supported device and network availability. Cloud backup requires sign-in and an eligible subscription for new uploads. Some paid features work locally after access has been verified, but subscription status may need to be checked online again; a cached status is not a promise of indefinite offline paid access.

Google Play processes Android subscription purchases. The checkout offer shows the actual localized price, billing period, applicable taxes and any trial or introductory conditions before you confirm. Do not rely on reference prices when they differ from the store offer.

Unless the offer expressly states otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically for the displayed billing period until canceled. If an eligible free trial is offered, its length, subsequent price and billing frequency are shown before purchase. It converts to the displayed paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends under Google Play's conditions.

Manage or cancel renewal in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, or use the app's Manage subscription link. Use the Google account that made the purchase. Cancellation normally stops future renewal while access continues until the end of the confirmed trial or paid period, subject to the store's rules and any refund, revocation or payment issue. See Google Play's cancellation instructions. Uninstalling, signing out, turning backup off or deleting your Family Habit account does not cancel Google Play billing.

If access is missing, use Restore purchases or Refresh plan before purchasing again. A pending payment or delayed verification may temporarily delay paid access. Contact us with your Google Play order ID and a description of the issue; do not send payment-card details.

When Plus access ends, the app returns to Free features and limits. Subscription expiry does not itself delete your local routines. Some profiles, controls or history views may be unavailable under Free limits. Cloud backups follow the separate retention arrangements below.

6. Refunds and consumer rights

Refund eligibility depends on Google Play's refund policies, the circumstances and applicable law. You can request a refund through Google Play or contact harnvia@gmail.com for help. A refund and access revocation may end paid access immediately; canceling renewal alone does not automatically refund an earlier payment.

Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer rights, including applicable rights concerning faulty digital services, cancellation, withdrawal, refunds or other remedies. We do not treat using the app as a blanket waiver of statutory withdrawal rights. Any legally required separate consent or acknowledgment must be obtained through the applicable purchase process.

7. Local data and optional backups

Family routines are stored locally in Free and Plus. Signing in alone does not upload them. Keep an exported backup before changing devices, clearing storage or reinstalling. Device loss, storage failure and removing app data can result in loss of local records. You are responsible for keeping exported files secure; they may contain information about your family.

Cloud backup is an optional Plus feature and is not included in Free. Signed-in Plus subscribers can choose manual uploads or automatic daily backups when the app is used and data has changed. These are whole-file snapshots, not live cross-device sync. Up to three snapshots are retained per account; when all three slots are occupied, a new snapshot replaces the oldest one. Automatic backup is off until you enable it. A connection and successful upload are required; enabling automatic backup does not mean every change has already been backed up. Check the last successful backup before relying on a snapshot. File-size limits and supported backup formats apply; if a cloud upload is too large, use a local export.

Restoring a snapshot replaces local routines; review the restore confirmation and keep any export you need. A pre-restore recovery copy is kept on that device, but it is not a separate off-device backup. Turning automatic backup off stops future automatic uploads; it does not delete existing cloud snapshots. You can delete snapshots in Settings. Backups use access controls and provider-managed encryption, not end-to-end encryption.

After subscription entitlement ends, new cloud uploads stop. Existing snapshots remain available to restore or delete during the retention period. If your subscription entitlement ends and you still have cloud backups, we retain them for 90 days after access ends. We send an email notice to the email address on your account at least 14 days before deleting them, with the planned deletion date and instructions to restore or export your data or renew. Delayed notice postpones deletion to preserve that notice period. Renewing before cleanup preserves stored snapshots. This cleanup does not remove routines stored locally on your device. Deleted cloud objects are subject to the seven-day provider recovery period described in the Privacy Policy.

These precautions do not limit your statutory rights or excuse a failure to provide services as legally required.

8. Account deletion

If you have an account, use Settings > Account > Delete my account, or follow our account-deletion request instructions. In-app account deletion requires a connection and identity verification. If you cannot use the app, contact harnvia@gmail.com; we may need to verify account ownership. Account deletion removes the login, active cloud backups and associated personal cloud records, and the local records covered by the in-app deletion operation. Provider processing, recovery copies, feedback and any justified retained records follow the Privacy Policy's retention and deletion procedures. Account deletion does not remotely erase exports or data retained on other devices.

When you delete your account, you do not need to make a second request: we ask RevenueCat to delete your customer record, normally within one calendar month of your deletion request. If you stop subscribing without deleting your account, we keep the customer record while it is needed to manage your subscription and for up to 180 days after your entitlement ends, unless you renew. In either case, a specific, documented legal obligation or unresolved dispute may require us to keep limited records longer, and we will explain this to you. We handle RevenueCat cleanup manually, and RevenueCat processes deletion under its own procedures. Exported files or copies outside the app are not remotely erased. Cancel Google Play renewal separately if you no longer want to be charged.

9. Availability, changes and restrictions

We aim to provide a reliable service, but interruptions, maintenance, device limitations and errors can occur. Contact us about faults so we can investigate and provide any remedy required by law.

We may restrict network or account access where reasonably necessary to address security threats, unlawful use or serious breaches of these terms. Where lawful and practicable, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue. Restrictions will be proportionate and do not remove applicable consumer remedies or privacy rights. We cannot remotely erase routine data kept only on your device.

We may update features and these terms for legitimate operational, security or legal reasons. Material changes will be explained in an in-app notice or by email where appropriate before they take effect, with any notice, consent, termination or refund rights required by law. This does not give us an unrestricted right to remove paid benefits during a period you have already paid for. We will show the effective date of revised terms. A future change of legal provider, including incorporation, will be disclosed rather than silently substituted.

10. Responsibility and disputes

You are responsible for choosing suitable routines and household rewards and for your own use of the app. We remain responsible for our obligations under these terms and applicable law. No term excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, or removes mandatory guarantees or remedies.

You can contact harnvia@gmail.com with complaints so we can try to resolve them. Doing so is not a condition of exercising a statutory remedy. Applicable mandatory consumer protections and access to competent courts or authorities remain available; these terms do not require arbitration or an exclusive court outside your jurisdiction.
