Family Habit privacy policy
In short: your family's goals, habits and rewards stay on your device. We use Firebase to sign you in, Google Play and RevenueCat to handle subscriptions, Google Analytics for Firebase to see which features are used, and a feedback service if you write to us. We do not sell your information or show ads.
Family Habit is an app by Harnvia Technologies ("Harnvia", "we", "us"). This policy covers the Family Habit app and the Harnvia website. It is written for parents and guardians, who manage the app on their own device. Questions or requests: harnvia@gmail.com.
1. Information in the app
You may enter profile names, parent or child roles, a child's age group, avatars, goals, habits, assignments, challenges and rewards. The app also keeps activity dates, check-ins, history, stars, coins, redemptions, settings and reminder preferences.
This family activity is stored on your device. We do not receive it, and it is not backed up or shared across devices by us. Losing your device, clearing app storage or uninstalling can remove it. You can export a backup. The backup file is saved to the Documents folder on your device, and you can then move or share it wherever you like.
Child profiles are entries that a parent manages. Children do not create accounts or sign in, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Please keep names, goals and feedback free of sensitive details. Avatars are chosen from the built-in illustrations and letters in the app. The app does not ask for, store or upload your photos.
2. Accounts and purchases
If you create or sign in to an account, Firebase Authentication (Google) processes your email address, account identifier and sign-in credentials. Account and subscription records are stored in the cloud.
For paid plans, Google Play and RevenueCat process purchase and subscription details such as product, status and expiry. We give RevenueCat your account identifier so your subscription applies to your account. We never receive your full payment-card details.
3. Usage analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to learn which features are used, find setup problems and improve reliability. Our custom events record fixed categories, counts and yes/no flags (for example plan type, challenge type and whether an action succeeded). They do not include profile names, goal or habit titles, email addresses, record IDs, exact reminder times or error text. We do not set your account identifier as an Analytics user ID.
The Firebase SDK also collects standard information such as an app-instance identifier and technical details about the app and device, so this data should not be treated as anonymous. Google processes it under its own terms. Analytics starts when the app opens. We are adding a setting to turn it off; until then, you can contact us to ask about your data.
4. Reminders
Reminders are local notifications on your device. The app asks for notification permission when needed. You can turn reminders off in the app or in device settings. Notification text may show on your lock screen depending on your device settings.
5. Feedback and support
If you send feedback, we receive your message, its category, any reply email you give, a feedback identifier, the time, the app identifier and your account identifier (or a guest marker). It is sent through a service we run on Cloudflare and recorded in Jira Service Management (Atlassian), the tool we use to track and answer feedback and support requests. We use it to reply, investigate problems and improve the app. Please do not include passwords, payment details or unnecessary information about children. If you are offline, feedback may be saved on your device and sent later.
6. Who else handles information
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Sign-in, account records, Analytics |
| Google Play, RevenueCat | Purchases and subscription access |
| Cloudflare | Feedback service and subscription checks |
| Atlassian (Jira Service Management) | Tracking and answering feedback and support requests |
These providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States, under their own safeguards and terms. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Backups you export are saved as a file in your device's Documents folder. Anyone who can open that file, or whom you share it with, can read the family information in it. If you copy it to cloud storage or another app, that service's privacy practices apply.
7. How long we keep information
- Family activity on your device: until you delete it in the app or clear app storage. Removing or pausing a goal, habit or challenge may keep its history and earned rewards.
- Account and subscription records: while your account exists, and deleted when you delete your account (see section 8). Google Play and RevenueCat may keep purchase records as the law requires.
- Feedback: kept in Jira Service Management as long as needed to respond and improve the app, then deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
- Analytics: kept by Google for the retention period set in our Firebase project (not longer than 14 months).
- Deletion markers: after account deletion, a minimal marker may remain so that old devices cannot restore deleted cloud records.
8. Deleting your account and data
In the app, choose Delete my account. This removes your login and your account's cloud records and clears the related data on that device. It needs an internet connection and a check that it is you. Signing out or uninstalling does not delete your account or cancel a Google Play subscription.
You can also ask us to delete your account without the app: see how to request deletion. Deleting your account does not remove feedback you sent, Analytics data held by Google, store purchase records or backups you exported. Email us to ask about information held by Harnvia.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. Email harnvia@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm that the account is yours. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Family records that exist only on your device are not available to us. Use the app's controls to view, export or remove them.
10. Children
Family Habit is meant to be used by parents and guardians. Child profiles hold only what a parent enters (a name or nickname, an age group, an optional avatar, and routines). Parents can edit or remove a child profile at any time. If you believe a child has given us personal information directly, email us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use authentication and access controls for cloud account data. Protect your account, device and backups. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.
12. Changes to this policy
When our practices change, we will update this page and its date. For material changes we will also tell you in the app or by email.
